Tension a Zipscreen™ Spring

Remove the Front Cover Screws
1. Use a screwdriver or drill to remove the screws that secure the front cover.
Lock the Spring
2. Use a screwdriver to push in the spring lock. Lift the Blind and ensure that is locked correctly before proceeding to the next step.
Remove the Retainer Clips
3. Use a drill to remove the screws from the retainer clips. After the screws are removed ensure you remove both retainer clips.
Remove the Zipscreen™
4. Remove the spring end of the Zipscreen from the cassette, the idle end should remain in the cassette.
Apply Tension
5. Use the specifically designed spring tension tool to wind the spring to the appropriate tension. We provide a link to our tension chart for our Zipscreen™ Awnings on all orders.
Reinstall the Zipscreen™ Into the Cassette
6. With the spring now correctly tensioned reinstall the Zipscreen™ into the cassette. Then apply the retainer clips and corresponding screws to secure the Awning in place.
7. Before testing the Zipscreen™, ensure that you unlock the spring to allow the awning to operate.

Test for Performance
8. Ensure the Zipscreen™ is performing correctly and has the correct amount of tension.
Install the Front Cover
9. Install the front cover and apply the screws.
